Essential Ingredients: Our Caring Family!

Dolores Wootton

Dolores has owned and operated Essence Therapeutics in the Beaches district of Toronto since 1981. Her dedication to healing and total well-being has lead her to continuously upgrade her knowledge of various modalities that promote physical, mental and emotional health. As well, her search for high quality, natural skin care has lead her to use the "Yon-Ka" product line. (natural ingredients and cruelty-free!) These treatments for the skin are also based on aroma therapy.

Patricia Lavers, RMT
Trish is a Sutherland-Chan grad working in the beautiful Beach area of Toronto for the last few years alongside chiropractors, physiotherapists, naturopaths and fitness instructors with great success in treating individuals in a holistic way. Trish has experience in female-focus work such as pregnancy massage, breast massage therapy to help alleviate congestion and scar work for post-surgical clients, as well as body work for those with chronic pelvic pain. She integrates other elements, such as aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, fascial work and manual stretching and joint mobilizations to create a comprehensive treatment. This is helpful for clients of all ages, many of whom are dealing with arthritis, central nervous system disorders, rehabilitation post-stroke, diabetes-related complications, as well as repetitive strain injuries and tension-related headaches. Trish is a firm believer in self-care and education for massage clients; a successful treatment ends when you leave the treatment room without pain or tension, feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, and with information to help keep you balanced and feeling well.

John Barnet, RMT

Inspired by his father’s chronic back pain and the discomfort from radiation therapy, John made a decision to pursue a career helping people feel better through massage. John completed rigorous academic and clinical training at the Sutherland-Chan School & Teaching Clinic before passing his board exams to become a Registered Massage Therapist. Presently, he is starting to study Osteopathy to gain a more in depth understanding of the body. He enjoys relaxation and rehabilitative massage, and has helped clients with problems ranging from stress and sports injuries, to chronic pain, pregnancy, headaches and back problems. He also has extensive experience with paralysis, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Sclerosis. In his spare time, John enjoys an active lifestyle that includes scuba diving, skiing and white water kayaking. He was a wilderness guide on Vancouver Island, and enjoys the outdoors. His passion lies in rock climbing on the boulders around Squamish, BC.
